The story picks up just after the original movie ended, with main character Elle () starting her senior year at an upscale private high school while her boyfriend goes off to college. This film is tamer than the original, with less underage drinking. The Kissing Booth deploys every rom-com cliché in the book with little care given to achieving any real sentiment.
Sparks fly, but there's one little problem: Noah just happens to be the brother When Elle Evans (Joey King), a pretty. Main character Elle also appears in bra and underwear several times. The film received largely negative reviews from critics, who deemed its storyline and themes to be clichéd and misogynistic.
There is high school romance, the player who turns good for love (yeah, right), the wicked. In this film, we pick up right where we left off the first time around. Keeping in tradition with the previous installment, this movie also begins with our lead character Elle blandly narrating points of her life ever since the end of the first film. Let's cut to the chase: The Kissing Booth is a disaster on every level. I've seen a lot of movies. As cinema either theatrical or televisual is concerned, The Kissing Booth is negligible.
