Basic Instinct is well known for several reasons: some good, some not-so-good, and some.well, if you know, you know. I had heard mixed things about it, and was a little apprehensive about it going in. Turns out, I shouldn't really doubt Verhoeven. His direction is superb in this movie, even when… If you're unfamiliar with the genitalia of either gender, "Basic Instinct" is the movie that will clear things up.
