NECA: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Super Shredder Review I am really trying to keep up the theme days this week, so here is a giant-sized #TurtleTuesday for you, and that is not at all hyperbole. As a lifelong fan of Ninja Turtles, weirdly the 'Teenage' part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was always the part that stuck out to me the most. And as someone who loves teenage movies, and who's made a lot of teenage movies, and who literally got their start in their entire profession by writing a teenage movie, the idea of kind of.
The only problem is that the whole Ninja Turtles franchise has come with a love it or hate it tag attached to it, often times giving it a bad rap that it really doesn't deserve. The difference between ''Teen-Age Mutant Ninja Turtles'' the live-action film and ''Teen-Age Mutant Ninja Turtles'' the animated television show can be measured in whiskers, matted fur, beady eyes. But this movie is nowhere near as bad as it might have been, and probably is the best possible Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie.
It supplies, in other words, more or less what Turtle fans will expect: the Ninja Turtles, subways, pizzas, villains, a rudimentary plot and an explanation of how the Turtles met their Zen-master, a wise old rodent. The fictional comic book team known as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird have appeared in six feature-length films since their debut.
